Once upon a time there was a bird. It wasn't happy, but there wasn't anything making it unhappy. The problem was, it didn't know what bird it was. At first, it thought it was a seagull. It went flapping with the other seagulls, but soon realised it wasn't as good at skimming the waves for fish, or fighting the other seagulls for food. Then it thought it was a penguin. It went swimming with the other penguins and huddled with them on the ice. But then a seal chased after it, and it wished it could fly. It became an eagle and hunted little rabbits. But then it soon tired of sharpening its beak and trying to spot prey in the bright sunlight. It tried being a vulture, and had a few lazy days picking off dead things before the foul stench made it decide otherwise. Then it found an owl. It was fun to flap around all night with the other owl and sleep in the day, and the mice were easy to catch. The bird became happy and stopped changing shape.
